There is a rumor that Citadel Broadcasting, the company that just took control of 96.3 WDVD FM on June 12, 2007, will change 96.3 WDVD FM’s format from Hot Adult Contemporary to a Top 40-Hit Music format at www.wikipedia.com.
If you go to www.citadelbroadcasting.com look up WDVD FM, and WDVD FM is listed as a Top 40 radio station, instead of a Hot AC or Hot Adult Contemporary radio station.
I really hope that 96.3 WDVD FM’s format will be changed to a Top 40 radio station, so Detroit will have a real Top 40 radio station, instead of Channel 9-5-5 WKQI FM which is really a rap station instead of a Top 40 radio station.
Channel 9-5-5 is a fake Top 40 radio station.
Citadel Broadcasting also own another radio station in Saginaw, Michigan that is a very good Top 40 radio station named 102.5 FM WIOG. You cannot get 102.5 FM in metro Detroit because of interference from 102.7 FM WHTD, that broadcast from a transmitter at 14 Mile Road and Gratiot Road in Clinton Township, Michigan.

The Top 40 format would be a good new format for 97.1 FM, because there is currently just 1 Top 40 station here in Detroit, which is WKQI FM Channel 95.5 FM.

I would suggest to CBS radio that if they want to change 97.1 FM format because of the low ratings, they should change it to Top 40 Hit Music radio because of the following:

Detroit has 2 Hip Hop stations- 98 FM WJLB and Hot 102.7 FM

Detroit has 2 Country stations- 99.5 FM and 106.7 FM

Detroit has 2 Rock stations- 88.7 FM and 101.1 FM

Detroit has 2 Urban Soul stations- 92.3 FM and 105.9 FM

Detroit has 2 Jazz stations- 98.7 FM and 107.5 FM

Detroit has 2 Soft Rock stations- 100.3 FM and 105.1 FM

Detroit has only 1 CHR Top 40 Hit Music station- 95.5 FM, which 95.5 FM sucks.

This is the reason why we need a new Top 40 station here in Detroit.

If you ask me 97.1 FM should change their format from talk radio to Hit Music radio station.

Citadel Broadcasting does not believe in having a rap radio station and calling it Top 40 like that stupid Clear channel communications here in Detroit, Michigan call channel 955 top 40, when they know channel 955 is a rap channel.

I believe channel 955 would be a better radio station if they were owned by Citadel Broadcasting the company who owns 93.1 Doug FM, 96.3 WDVD and AM 760 WJR here in Detroit, Michigan.
