What are some really really amazing and talented bands/musicians that are not top 40 artists that have an intense sounds? Not hard rock or screamo/emo please. Bands similar to maybe Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Bright Eyes, Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, etc. Any style of music really. Just not the same crap that’s on the “hit” radio stations please. =]

Is is just me or does it seem that most Disney stars/former Disney stars (though usually the female ones) want to become singers? I mean, let’s see. There’s Hillary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Raven Symone, Corbin Bleu, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, the list goes on. It’s just ridiculous. Am I the only person who finds this rather annoying?

In the 80s, you could always see the new music videos on Friday night videos (on NBC) and on other shows. I haven’t seen a music video for years.
I used to get VH1 and MTV and all I saw were “reality” shows and I love the 80s. Not much in terms of music videos.

I’ve only just started songwriting this year and wanted to know how much of a progress I’ve made. Be as harsh as you want - so could you imagine any of my songs as being a hit?
